To say the least this show was highly anticipated. Redou is a genre defining architect of fabric. He defies conventionally by making bold statements in the most bold and beautiful way and this show was no disappointment. Although he is know for working in leather and more stately fabrics, this collection was a new chapter taking his panache for structure and hard lines and mixing it with soft colors and smooth comforting textiles. Not to mention an avant garde street wear edge that gave the collection a very elegant relaxed presence. Highlights included an almost cocoon off the shoulder top and a red tootled dress that left nothing to the imagination while breaking your wildest dreams. Very few designers can continuously live up to their reputation, very few designers have a true undeniable signature and true mastery of turning textiles into works of art. That’s because only one designer is Andre Redou.
