Omar And Jesse Check Out The Washed Apparel NYC Pop-Up Gallery.

During New York Fashion Week Omar Lisandro and I had some free time after the shows and  decided to check out a pop-up gallery put together by Washed Apparel Co.

Washed Apparel consisted of mostly hand painted garments and screen printed tees. Some of the featured styles consisted of creative paintings and text on fabric, I believe this is entitled “The Thrift” Series. Dynamic offset placement gave it a contemporary street wear flair while the use of corduroy really gave it a west cost skater vibe complementary to some of the more risky creative directions that older street wear brands like Freshjive, JNCO or even PNB went into.

Keeping in trend the use of neon, dynamic text and oversized fits gave Washed some versatility if you wanted to pair it with something in the winter or give it to your high fashion girlfriend to wear with some leggings and a pair of Off-White Prestos.

Aside from the clothing on display and the good vibes this was also a gallery showcase featuring artwork by the head designer and founder of Washed Apparel creating a really cool underground vibe that completed the concept of the clothing themes as a whole. Make sure you check out Washed Apparel online and keep up with what they’re making in the lab.

Here’s a little more about Washed Apparel from the founders.

If you’re like most people, hearing the word “washed” may instinctively spark thoughts of your fresh laundry or maybe those of personal hygiene. But this is no laundry service, and we sure as hell aren’t referring to your physical state after a shower. We believe washed takes on a whole different connotation– one that transcends literal use and represents a lifestyle. As such, it’s important I tell you the origin of its use among us– a team of east coast kids with big ambitions, perpetually seeking to experience life through passion and exploration. How could we sit around and repeat the same routine, knowing the world is filled with amazing and infinite possibilities? Spoiler: We didn’t. Just like when you get washed away from shore and immersed into the ocean, we seek to constantly get washed away into new adventures, cultures, experiences, and moments. Whether it’s goofin’ around in Utah backcountry with waist deep freshies or simply sipping a cold one while you and your squad enjoy the sunset from the beach– you’ve been washed all along. We believe life is too short for dry experiences. So get washed and stay washed.
